Man Fatally Injured in Motorcycle Collision near Union Road
HOLLISTER, CA (September 23, 2018) – A man was killed Sunday evening following a hit-and-run crash on Highway 156. The identity of the victim was not immediately released, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 8:15 PM, just east of Union Road. A motorcyclist was heading east on the highway when he lost control, rolled over, and landed in the lane of oncoming traffic. There, he was struck by a vehicle.
The victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the site of the crash.
The suspect vehicle, described as a dark-colored sedan or SUV, was last seen driving westbound on Highway 156. There is no description of the hit=-and-run driver at this time.
