30-Year-Old Rider Dead in Bothell Car Accident on 405 Freeway
BOTHELL, WA (September 18, 2019) – On Wednesday night, a 30-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a DUI car accident on 405 Freeway.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened around 8:30 PM near Beardslee Road.Troopers reported a 42-year-old driver of an Acura and the motorcyclist were racing around 70 miles per hour. After that, the Acura veered onto the motorcycle’s lane. As a result, the motorcyclist crashed.
First responders arrived at the scene shortly after. Paramedics stated because of the accident, it pushed the rider over the guard rail. As a result, the rider succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Law enforcement arrested the Acura driver for suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular homicide.
The surrounding area closed for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation. However, the road has since reopened. Police did not announce further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
