Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Telegraph Canyon Road in Chula Vista

Chula Vista, CA (November 14, 2024) – A motorcyclist died in a crash on Telegraph Canyon Road.

The fatal crash occurred around 4:44 p.m. in the 700 block of Telegraph Canyon Road, as reported by several callers. 

The motorcyclist had been riding a black and silver Suzuki GSXR1000 westbound when he hit the median and lost control. 

The impact threw him into the eastbound lanes, where a Honda Accord struck him.

Police confirmed that the motorcyclist, whose identity is being withheld, died at the scene. 

The Honda driver, a 56-year-old woman from Spring Valley, is fully cooperating with the Chula Vista Police Department’s Traffic Bureau, which is investigating the incident. 

Authorities do not suspect alcohol or drug impairment as contributing factors.

The crash prompted the temporary closure of Telegraph Canyon Road between Medical Center Drive and Paseo del Rey.

Police expected the roadway to reopen by approximately 9 p.m., according to Officer Adkins.
