Senior Motorcyclist Killed in Accident with UPS Delivery Truck near Ball Mountain Road
SISKIYOU COUTNTY, CA (June 1, 2018) – An elderly man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 on Friday. He was identified as a 67-year-old male motorcyclist from Klamath Falls, Oregon. His name was not immediately disclosed.
The fatal accident occurred at around 1:50 PM between a red Harley-Davidson motorcycle and an F250 UPS delivery vehicle, driven by a 22-year-old male from Etna.
The site of the crash was on Highway 97, just north of Ball Mountain Road, according to the Yreka Area California Highway Patrol. It was not immediately confirmed what caused the crash.
Lifesaving medical efforts were already being rendered by witnessed when the CHP arrived at the scene. CHP officers took over medical care until relieved by Cal Fire. Personnel from Cal Fire pronounced the motorcyclist dead at 2:07 PM. No other injuries were reported in the collision.
Witnesses at the scene gave statements to officers as well as the driver of the UPS delivery truck. Authorities are still investigating the collision to determine the exact cause. No additional information has been released to the public at this time.
