Man Fatally Injured in Motorcycle Accident near Park Avenue
PERRIS, CA (September 14,2018) – On Friday evening, a motorcyclist was fatally injured in a collision on West 4th Street.
Officers from the Perris Police Department arrived at the scene after being alerted about a traffic collision in the area, just west of Park Avenue. Based on the preliminary investigation, a 54-year-old resident of Perris was driving westbound on West 4th and came to a stop in the center median.
The motorist tried to cross the two westbound lanes into a driveway of a business when she was struck by a westbound motorcycle, ridden by a 25-year-old man from Perris. He suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. No other injuries were reported in the collision. and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.
The Perris Traffic Reconstruction Team also responded to the location and assumed the investigation. The westbound number two lane of West 4th St was shut down temporarily while investigators worked at the site and re-opened the lanes at 11:45 PM. Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be contributing factors in this fatal incident.
