34-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured after Motorcycle Collision near Crouch Street
OCEANSIDE, CA (July 1, 2018) – A man was killed Sunday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a truck on Oceanside Boulevard.
The collision took place at 3:21 PM in the 2100 block of Oceanside Boulevard near Crouch Street. A motorcycle, driven by an unidentified 34-year-old man, was heading east when it collided with a westbound Chevrolet truck attempting to make a left turn from a center median into a private business.
Emergency personnel arrived and administered life-saving measures on the male rider. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist’s identity is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
The truck driver stopped at the scene to cooperate with the investigators. He was interviewed and eventually released. Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the deadly collision.
An investigation, handled by the Oceanside Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT), is ongoing.
