Motorcycle Dies in Broadside Collision with Pickup Truck in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (July 25, 2019) – A motorcyclist died in a collision with a truck on Greenfield Drive Wednesday before noon.
 
The El Cajon police said the biker was westbound on Greenfield Drive when an oncoming full-size pickup struck hit him broadside. The driver was making a left turn against a red light at the entrance to eastbound 8 Freeway that time.
 
The motorcyclist died at the scene. The authorities have not released information about the rider’s identity. The police do not believe that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
 
The incident prompted the closure of the connector and one westbound lane on the adjacent street. The California Highway Patrol also issued a congestion alert for the area. The affected traffic lanes reopened at about 1:15 p.m. as per Caltrans.
