Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Highway 138 in San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (July 28, 2019) – An unidentified motorcyclist was killed late Sunday morning following a van collision on Highway 138.
The collision happened around 10:51 a.m., on Highway 138. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
CHP officials responded to the scene and located a motorcycle and a white Dodge van. Both the motorcycle and the van were found with front-end damage. Debris from the crash were also strewn in the westbound lanes.
Life-saving aid was performed on the motorcyclist. However, the rider was later pronounced dead on scene as a result of the impact.
In addition, the identity of the victim has been withheld pending next of kin notification. The surrounding area was also closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
Details surrounding the collision were not made clear in the reports and media releases. However, the CHP is still investigating the incident at this time.
