Fatal Motorcycle and Fire Truck Crash in Orange
ORANGE, CA (June 5, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed following a collision with a fire truck Wednesday afternoon in Orange.
The crash happened around 4:41 p.m. near the intersection of East Collins Avenue and Roberto Street.
According to Orange police, a motorcycle was going at high speeds when it crashed into a fire engine. Three firefighters were extricated from the truck and transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
The rider was unconscious and rushed to UCI Trauma Center, where he later died. His identity has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
It’s unclear whether the fire truck had lights and sirens glaring at the time of the crash.
The California Highway Patrol will be handling the crash investigation.
