Man From Centralia Hits Motorcyclist in Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5
Vancouver, WA (August 7, 2020) – On Wednesday, a motorcyclist carrying a passenger while merging lines was injured in a vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
The accident happened at about 9:04 p.m. when the 25-year-old driver from Centralia struck the motorcyclist.
According to the authorities, all of the involved vehicles were moving southbound on Interstate 5 approaching a construction lane closure.
Just then, the man from Centralia driving a Toyota Corolla attempted to drift into the right-hand lane and struck two Vancouver residents riding a motorcycle.
The authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the incident, also to know if charges are to be warranted. Though, police have already determined drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
Moreover, both the 49-year-old motorcyclist and his 25-year-old passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
However, unlike with his passenger, the driver incurred injuries and the rescuers took him to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. The passenger reported no injuries.
Meanwhile, after crashing with the motorcyclist, the Corolla collided with a Mazda M3 driven by a 32-year-old man from Portland. Then, the Mazda M3 collided into a Lexus RX 450 driven by a 71-year-old woman from Portland. Neither of the two Portland drivers was injured.
Practice safe driving habits on the road at all times… even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.
