The crash in Simi Valley happened at around 1:15 p.m. on July 9.
According to reports, the motorcyclist had apparently exited the driveway of the Shell gas station. He rode onto northbound First Street directly into the path of the SUV, which was traveling north in the right traffic lane.
The SUV was driven by a 17-year-old girl from Simi Valley.
EMS then took the motorcyclist to Los Robles Regional Medical Center with severe injuries. The hospital has the only Level II trauma center in east Ventura County.
Moreover, police said unsafe speed and DUI do not appear to be a cause of the collision.
