Police Investigate Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 15 in Cajon Pass

Cajon Pass, CA (December 13, 2024) – A motorcyclist suffered injuries in a crash on Interstate 15 freeway on Friday afternoon. 

The accident occurred around 4:30 PM on December 13, 2024, in the northbound lanes of the I-15, just north of the 215 interchange.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision involved a motorcycle and a U-Haul truck, causing the closure of the second and third lanes. 

A passenger in a gray Honda Civic later reported to dispatch that the motorcycle struck the car’s mirror before crashing.

Following the incident, the U-Haul truck stopped on the right-hand shoulder, while the Honda Civic was positioned in the center divider. 

Witnesses at the scene observed that the motorcyclist was conscious but in pain.

The crash temporarily shut down all northbound lanes, resulting in significant traffic delays for several miles. By 5:10 PM, CHP reopened all lanes except for the first lane.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
