Rider Hospitalized after Wenatchee Car Accident
WENATCHEE, WA (July 14, 2019) – Sunday evening, a motorcyclist sustained injuries in a hit-and-run accident on 2 Freeway.
According to the Washington State Patrol the crash happened near Lower Sunny Slope Road. Witnesses stated a black Chevrolet pickup truck drove ahead of two motorcycles when it slammed on the breaks. The truck driver then swerved near one of the riders and hit the motorcyclists. After that, the suspect fled the scene without rendering aid.
The Chelan County Fire District arrived shortly after. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation. They stated he suffered minor injuries. However, his current medical condition is not released.
The surrounding area closed for a brief time while crews worked to clean the scene, but reopened shortly after. Troopers did not release any other information at this time. An investigation is still ongoing to determine further details.
It is unknown at this time if police caught the suspect.
