Trash Truck and Motorcycle Crash on West Point Loma Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 12, 2019) – A motorcyclist was injured in a crash in the 4400 block of West Point Loma Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Famosa Slough in Point Loma Heights. Based on a report, the 23-year-old rider’s Harley-Davidson was eastbound trying to pass the truck when the collision occurred.
The rider landed head-first into a metal trash bin. The paramedics sent him to a hospital for treatment of a compound fracture to his left leg and other injuries.
Police closed the eastbound side of the street in the area to allow for investigation and cleanup. In addition, an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. However, additional information has yet to be released.
