SAN DIEGO, CA (March 30, 2022) – Tuesday night, a motorcyclist suffered injuries in a crash on Rosecrans Street and Oliphant Street near Liberty Station.

The incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Rosecrans Street and Oliphant Street near Liberty Station.

According to reports, a 31-year-old motorcyclist in a 2016 Suzuki DR-Z400SM motorcycle headed south. Meanwhile, the 56-year-old male driver of a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport headed north on Rosecrans Street. However, the driver tried to turn left onto Oliphant Street. He turned in front of the rider and crashed with the front of the SUV.

After the crash, responders transported the driver to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He suffered fractures to multiple ribs, his upper left arm, and both bones in his lower left leg. Moreover, he also sustained internal injuries.

Meanwhile, the SUV driver escaped the scene but a witness followed him and reported his escape. Eventually, officers managed to arrest the driver on suspicion of hit-and-run related charges.
