1 Hurt in Pasadena Motorcycle Accident
PASADENA, CA (April 11, 2019) – A motorcycle rider suffered injuries in collision with a car on Madison Avenue and Del Mar Boulevard on April 9.
After 9:30 a.m., the Pasadena Police and Fire Department personnel came to respond to an injury crash. When the authorities arrived, they located a gray and black 2011 Ducati motorcycle.
The 35-year-old male Pasadena motorcyclist rode west on Del Mar Boulevard. Unfortunately, a southbound gray 2010 Hyundai Elantra four-door sedan struck him. However, it is unclear if the motorcyclist had broadsided the Elantra.
As a result, the motorcyclist suffered critical injuries. Medics transported him to the hospital. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old female Pasadena driver of the Hyundai Elantra did not sustain any injuries.
In addition, the woman stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities also clarified that the female driver did not take alcohol or drugs before the crash.
Authorities do not consider speed as a factor in the crash.
The investigation revealed that the female driver didn’t notice the rider on Del Mar Boulevard. As a result, she pulled out in front of him while driving south across Del Mar Boulevard from the stop sign at Madison Avenue.
The Pasadena Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team currently investigates the collision. Authorities encourages anyone with information to contact Traffic Section Sergeant Dennis Beene at (626) 744-4343.
