Male Rider Airlifted after Motorcycle Crash in Buellton
BUELLTON, CA (March 3, 2019)– On Sunday morning, a 30-year-old man was injured in a motorcycle accident on 101 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:15 AM near the Three Bridges area.
As per reports, the motorcyclist was trying to pass between two vehicles at the time of the accident. However, he was unable to fit, lost control and swerved into the center divider.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department arrived at the scene shortly after. As a result, firefighters stated the victim suffered major injuries. He was airlifted by Calstar Medical helicopter and transferred to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. His current medical condition is unknown at this time.
Due to the motorcycle accident on the freeway, the left northbound lane and all the southbound lanes were closed off for a brief time. Authorities stated the lanes have since reopened. No further details have been disclosed to the public as the investigation continues.
