Motorcycle Collision on Highway 99 near Highway 190
TIPTON, CA (June 18, 2019) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized Tuesday morning following a traffic crash on Highway 99, near Highway 190.
The crash happened around 7:12 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the highway. Dispatchers arrived just south of Highway 190 shortly after.
According to an initial report, a motorcycle slipped in some water and pulled out in front of a nearby semi truck. The semi then struck the motorcycle, sending the rider down on the right shoulder.
The unidentified driver of the semi truck pulled over on the shoulder of the highway following the collision. Several other motorists also stopped to assist.
Emergency crews took the rider to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with unspecified injuries and in an unknown condition.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, it has since reopened to traffic. At this time, CHP officials are still currently in the process of investigating the incident to determine the other factors involved and liability.
