State Route 12 Westbound Lane Closed after Collision in Grays Harbor County
Elma, WA (June, 18, 2020)– A motorcyclist was airlifted after a collision in Grays Harbor County on early Wednesday morning.
Washington State Patrol responded to the crash in Grays Harbor County on June 17 at about 4:45 a.m.
The motorcyclist, a 37-year-old man was riding a motorcycle west on state Route 12 near milepost 21 at a high rate of speed. According to the press memo, the man collided with a 1996 Toyota Tacoma pickup.
Both vehicles were going in the same direction when the motorcyclist hit the back part of the pickup.
As a result, the motorcyclist was extricated from his vehicle. He was later found unconscious due to the impact of the collision. Furthermore, the report said that he was wearing a helmet during the incident.
Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said the State Patrol referred charges of reckless driving to the county prosecutor’s office.
Moreover, the driver of the pickup, a 69-year-old Tenino man was wearing a seatbelt. In addition, he sustained no injuries from the collision, according to the memo.
