Fatal Chain-Reaction Crash in Julian
Julian, CA (August 07, 2021) – On Friday, a 33-year-old motorcyclist died, and another was injured in State Route 79 crash.
Just before 1:30 p.m. Oceanside man on his northbound 2008 Harley Davidson Dyna Glide drifted to the left into a southbound lane. He crossed into the path of an oncoming 2016 Volkswagen Jetta.
Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider lost his life on the scene. Officers withheld his identity pending family notification.
The motorcycle slid across the roadway and crashed with a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by a 62-year-old woman from Arizona.
Also, a northbound 2016 Harley-Davidson struck debris in the roadway at the crash scene and toppled over. It’s rider, a 57-year- old Oceanside man, was thrown from the motorcycle.
Right away, paramedics took the Volkswagen driver to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the others involved in the crash were not injured.
The authorities are still investigating the State Route 79 crash.
