Motorcyclist Dies in Road 12 Head-On Collision [Madera County, CA]

Fatal Crash Near Avenue 33 1/2 Injures People

Madera County, CA (September 17, 2022) – On Friday evening, a motorcycle rider sustained fatal injuries in a Road 12 head-on collision.

The authorities received the crash report at about 7:15 p.m. near Avenue 33 1/2.

According to the officers, a gray Nissan Altima was westbound on Avenue 12 while a Harley Davidson was eastbound on Avenue 12.

The sedan tried to pass traffic and entered the opposite lane into the path of the motorcyclist.

When the Nissan driver and the motorcyclist both swerved to the left onto the south shoulder of Avenue 12. Then, the motorcyclist swerved to the right attempting to avoid the car.

However, the motorcycle and the Nissan still collided head-on.

Sadly, the motorcycle rider was ejected and died at the scene. 

There were two adults and two juvenile occupants in the Nissan. Officers say all of them were wearing seatbelts when the Road 12 head-on collision happened. 

The paramedics transported them to local area hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to major non-fatal injuries. 

In the meantime, the CHP is investigating the fatal crash near Avenue 33 1/2. They say drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the collision.
