Fatal Collision at Glenoaks Boulevard and Cornell Drive in Burbank
BURBANK, CA (November 04, 2019) — A 25-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision at Glenoaks Boulevard and Cornell Drive Thursday morning.
According to the Burbank police, the man was riding a motorcycle northbound on Glenoaks Boulevard above the posted speed limit. At about 10:30 a.m., he collided with a mid-size SUV merging into traffic from Cornell Drive.
The force of the crash ejected the rider from the motorcycle. The bike skidded along the road where it hit two other cars.
First responders transported the motorcyclist to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The authorities have not released his name to the public.
On the other hand, the drivers of the other vehicles stayed at the scene. They were cooperative with the investigation as per the police.
Meantime, the crash prompted the shutdown of Glenoaks Boulevard between Bethany Road and Cornell Drive for several hours.
The police said speed was a factor in the fatal crash. However, it’s unknown whether drugs or alcohol was also a factor in the collision. A toxicology test will be conducted on the motorcyclist by the medical examiner’s office.
