1 Arrested after Motorcycle Accident near Lincoln Avenue in Pomona
POMONA, CA (April 22, 2020) – Early Sunday morning, an unidentified motorcyclist was arrested after a collision with a police officer on Towne Avenue.
Authorities first received reports around 3:15 a.m., near Lincoln Avenue. According to police, the incident involved a motorcycle and an on-duty Pomona police officer vehicle.
Due to the impact, the rider sustained injuries. Meanwhile, the police officer remained uninjured.
At this time, the events leading up to the accident remain unclear. Following preliminary duties, police arrested the motorcyclist for DUI. Crews say the rider was later detained on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The surrounding area on Towne Avenue was blocked off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened.
