Motorcyclist Airlifted in Crash on Skyway Road and Woodward Drive [MAGALIA, CA]

Pickup Truck and Motorcycle Collide on Skyway Road in Magalia, Major Injuries Sustained

 
MAGALIA, CA (June 17, 2019) – A motorcyclist was airlifted Monday night following a traffic crash on Skyway Road, near Woodward Drive.
 
The collision happened around 6:05 p.m., at the intersection of Skyway Road and Woodward Drive. First responders arrived to the area shortly after.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle and a pickup truck collided for unknown reasons. The impact sent both the rider and motorcycle down on the roadway, blocking the eastbound traffic.
 
Fire crews along with paramedics responded to the scene and found the rider with major injuries. The victim was later airlifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
 
The motorcycle also sustained major damage and was towed away from the crash site due to the extent of its damage.
 
An investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors.
