Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Apple Valley Crash on Bear Valley Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (August 29, 2019) — A crash on Bear Valley Road Tuesday morning left a motorcycle rider with serious injuries.
The incident occurred at about 6:41 am in the 21900 block of Bear Valley Road in front of the Feed Bin. It involved a gold-colored four-door sedan and a lime-green motorcycle described as a newer Kawasaki.
A witness said the vehicle made U-turn, causing the bike to hit the side. Another witness said the young man riding the motorcycle was thrown pretty far from the bike.
The authorities requested a medical helicopter to airlift the motorcyclist to an out-of-area trauma center.
On the other hand, emergency responders treated a female driver and two small children seated in the back seat of the car for minor cuts from broken glass.
The crash remains under investigation by the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Motorcycle riders rarely escape injury when an accident occurs. If you are riding a motorcycle, do not underestimate the bike’s speed and strictly follow traffic laws and the conditions of the road. For other motorists, do not tailgate a motorcycle and maintain a safe following distance. Give motorcycles a full traffic lane when you pass and remember that they too have equal rights on the road.
