Motorcyclist Injured in Victorville Motorcycle Crash
VICTORVILLE, CA (May 28, 2019) — A motorcycle collision with a pickup truck on Palmdale Road left the rider with injuries Monday afternoon.
Callers reported the incident at 5:27 p.m. east of El Evado Road as per the Victorville City Fire Department and the San Bernardino County Sheriff‘s Department. Both departments responded to the collision which involved a white Suzuki motorcycle a Dodge Ram pickup truck.
A witness said the motorcycle rider traveled behind her as she was westbound on Palmdale Road. Afterward, the rider went around the witness’s vehicle into the number two lane. Meanwhile, the truck was making a left turn into the shopping center from eastbound Palmdale Road. That’s when the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the truck.
Officials said they found the rider down in the roadway when they arrived at the scene, while they located the truck with damage to the front passenger door.
Emergency responders treated the rider on the scene. Subsequently, a California Highway Patrol helicopter transported the rider to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The extent of the injuries was unknown at this time.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. The crash prompted the closure of westbound Palmdale Road for about an hour. Further investigation of the crash is underway.
