Motorcycle Riders Injured in Collision on State Route 397 [Kennewick, WA]

Kennewick, WA (July 12, 2022) – On Monday evening, two people on a motorcycle sustained injuries in a collision on State Route 397.

It was about 7:50 p.m. when the traffic incident took place on the southbound freeway near the city limits.

According to the investigators, a motorcycle rider attempted to pass a truck pulling a trailer on the left while the second vehicle was turning left towards a parking lot.  

The motorcycle hit the truck and both the motorcycle rider and passenger sustained unknown injuries. Officers say the riders were wearing helmets when the collision took place.

Meanwhile, the truck driver did not sustain injuries from the collision.

Investigating officers say alcohol did not play a role in the collision on SR 397.  They say charges against the motorcycle driver are pending.
