1 Dead in La Jolla Motorcycle Accident
LA JOLLA, CA (March 6, 2019) – A motorcycle rider died after a collision with an SUV while he’s in a bicycle lane, trying to overtake slow-moving traffic on March 5.
The San Diego police said that a 32-year-old motorcyclist was riding a northbound 1999 Triumph alongside a sidewalk in the 8700 block of Gilman Drive. At the same time, a 2004 Toyota Highlander drove into a driveway directly in his path shortly before 8:00 a.m.
Sgt. Michael Stirk stated that the medics transported the rider to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he later died.

No other person suffered injuries in the collision.
Meanwhile, the motorcyclist’s identity remains unreleased while waiting for his family to be informed.
