Motorcycle Rider Hurt in 4-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 [Salinas, CA]

Salinas, CA (August 21, 2021) On Thursday, a motorcycle rider was injured in a 4-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Esperanza Road between Salinas and Chualar.

The Monterey County Regional Fire Protection District says a big rig and a motorcycle were caught in the collision.

Authorities say the semi caught fire while the motorcycle was underneath it.

Fortunately, both motorists were off their respective vehicles when it happened.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) the motorcycle rider was taken to a hospital for immediate treatment of their injuries.

Furthermore, southbound traffic on Highway 101 is slow and motorists are using the right shoulder.
