Motorcyclist killed in Motorcycle-Big Rig Collision on Interstate 5
Tumwater, WA (November 02, 2020) – On Friday, a 29-year-old Olympia man died in a hit-and-run crash with 2 big rigs on Interstate 5 near Tumwater.
Moreover, the WSP reports say that the crash happened at around 10:25 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Maytown Road.
Furthermore, authorities say, that they are looking for one of the drivers of the semi-trucks, who did not stop at the scene.
Additionally, reports say that one of the big rigs was in the far right lane when the motorcycle entered the interstate.
Possibly, it is either oil on the road or the bank of the ramp, that caused the motorcycle rider to lose control of his vehicle.
Consequently, the motorcycle ran into the right rear of the semi-truck, then the truck ran over the motorcycle.
Meanwhile, police say that additional witnesses and evidence states that another semi hit the motorcyclist afterward and did not stop.
Eventually, a traffic advisory was given to avoid the area as an ongoing investigation is conducted by the WSP.
Subsequently, the on-ramp to northbound Interstate 5 from Maytown Road is also closed to traffic.
Lastly, the WSP is urging people who have additional information to reach out to them.
