41-Year-Old Thomas Albanese Lost His Life in Motorcycle Crash on Del Amo Boulevard
Lakewood, CA (February 26, 2021) – On Thursday, 41-year-old Motorcycle Deputy Thomas Albanese lost his life in a tragic crash on Del Amo Boulevard.
The fatal accident occurred at about 9 a.m. at the intersection of Paramount Boulevard.
Apparently, Albanese was starting to follow another vehicle to make a traffic stop.
A Mercedes traveling west on Del Amo Boulevard struck his motorcycle as he entered the intersection.
Unfortunately, the force of the crash was extreme that it threw him a distance from the crash scene.
Authorities pronounced Albanese dead at the scene.
Furthermore, the Mercedes’ sole occupant, its female driver, appeared to have a green light. However, investigators are investigating the exact sequence of events.
Moreover, Albanese’s body on a center median in the street was covered with an American flag. Crews set up a privacy canopy above it.
Albanese joined the department in 2013 and became a deputy in 2015. He first worked at the Men’s Central Jail and was transferred to Transit Services at the Lakewood station.
His dream was to become a motorcycle officer. He passed motor school in March 2020.
Since then, Albanese was assigned to the Pico Rivera station. He was working overtime at the Lakewood station when the accident happened.
Sweet Lawyers extends our deepest condolences to the families and friends of Thomas Albanese. Our hearts are with you through these difficult times.
