AUSTIN, TX (August 1, 2024) – Sunday morning, a devastating motorcycle crash on North MoPac Expressway near Braker Lane killed one person.

The incident happened at around 3:38 a.m. in the 8600 block of North MoPac Expressway northbound, near the Braker Lane intersection.

According to the Austin Police Department, a motorcycle rear-ended an SUV for still unknown reasons. Then, another vehicle struck the motorcyclist who was already down in the roadway.

Moreover, responders pronounced the motorcyclist, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities confirmed that the driver of the SUV remained at the scene after the crash, while the second vehicle fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
