Motorcyclist Dead After Crash on Interstate 580 in Alameda County
Alameda County, CA (April 29, 2024) – On Sunday, a motorcyclist died in a crash on Interstate 580.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist died on Sunday when his motorcycle drifted off the interstate, overturned, and ejected him onto the roadway.
The crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. on the eastbound side of Interstate 580, east of Patterson Pass Road.
For unknown reasons, the motorcyclist veered off the roadway, overturned, and was ejected into the guardrail and bridge railing of the Union Pacific overpass.
He came to rest in one of the lanes of I-580, while his motorcycle landed 300 feet from the road.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed that the motorcyclist died at the scene.
Following the initial collision, evidence indicates that several other vehicles struck the motorcyclist.
There is no evidence of another vehicle contributing to the initial crash, and it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
