Officer Hospitalized After Crash on Interstate 15 in Fallbrook

Fallbrook, CA (September 13, 2024) – On Friday afternoon, an off-duty officer’s motorcycle was involved in a crash on Interstate 15.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 near Old Highway 395 in Fallbrook.

The incident was first reported at 1:30 p.m. when the SUV struck the motorcycle, which was in the middle lane. 

The motorcyclist ended up in the #1 lane, leading to the closure of lanes 1 and 2. 

Emergency responders, including Cal Fire, arrived at the scene, with fire crews accessing the site from the southbound side of the highway. 

The officer’s wife was on her way to the hospital to meet him. At 2:18 p.m., a tow truck was dispatched and backed up from the Old Highway 395 ramp, arriving at the scene by 2:25 p.m. 

Additional changeable message signs (CMS) were activated at 2:33 p.m. to alert drivers to the incident and lane closures.
