Tragic Motorcycle Crash on Highland Valley Road Kills 62-Year-Old Rider [Escondido, CA]

Escondido, CA (December 19, 2023) On Saturday morning, a 62-year-old motorcycle rider died in a tragic motorcycle crash on Highland Valley Road.

According to a California Highway Patrol, the fatal 2-vehicle collision happened around 11:35 a.m. on Highland Valley Road near Bandy Canyon Road.

Reports say that a Toyota Camry, driven by a 20-year-old driver pulled out into the roadway from a driveway and collided with the Yamaha FZ09 the 62-year-old was riding.

Officials say that the rider attempted to avoid hitting the car by swerving, however the motorcycle still hits the front of the front, right side of the car and was thrown off his motorcycle.

Medics rushed the rider to Palomar Medical Center, where the rider succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the hospital. Meanwhile, the Toyota driver escaped injuries.

CHP is investigating the 2-vehicle collision and have not released further information at this time.
