Austin, TX (December 26, 2024) On Wednesday evening, 2 people were killed after a shocking motorcycle accident on US 290.

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the fatal crash happened at about 8:37 p.m. in the 6800 block of East U.S. 290 Highway in east Austin.

Reports say that the crash involved a pedestrian and a motorcycle rider. Officials say that the motorcycle struck the pedestrian on the high-speed highway.

Police say that the fatal incident closed the westbound main lanes and the service road.

Authorities are investigating the deadly collision and have not released further details about the deceased.
