Woman and Toddler Injured in Broadside Collision near Ottawa Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (October 3, 2018) – A mother and her daughter were injured Wednesday evening following a two-vehicle crash on Central Road. The identities of the victims were not immediately released to the public.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident took place at about 7:59 PM near Ottawa Road. A white 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser was heading west on Ottawa when it failed to yield to a northbound gray 2007 Chevy Silverado. This caused the Chevy to broadside the PT Cruiser.
The impact of the crash seriously injured the 23-year-old driver of the PT Cruiser and her 2-year-old daughter. They were later airlifted to the Antelope Valley Hospital with major injuries. Further details on their condition were not provided, and no other injuries were reported by the authorities.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors.
