2 Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident near Panorama Avenue
TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA (September 11, 2018) – A mother and her child were injured Tuesday morning following a T-bone crash on Highway 62.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 8:40 AM near Panorama Avenue. A Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by a 31-year-old woman, turned left from Panorama Avenue onto the highway. She drove right into the path of an eastbound Dodge Ram, resulting in a T-bone collision.
Firefighters had to extricate the 31-year-old woman and her 1-year-old daughter child from the Chevy truck. The woman sustained major injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Hi-Desert Medical Center. She was then flown by helicopter to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Her daughter received minor injuries and was flown to the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital for further evaluation. An occupant in the other truck declined medical aid; it is unclear if they were injured.
Traffic was diverted onto side streets around the crash, as cleanup and investigation took place. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (760) 366-4175. No further details have been disclosed at this time.
