24-Year-Old Rohnert Park Man Dies in Collision near Country Club Drive
ROHNERT PARK, CA (October 19, 2018) – A man was killed in a car crash on the eastbound Rohnert Park Expressway, early Friday morning. The deceased victim was later identified by the Sonoma County coroner’s office as 24-year-old Mo’Tasem Haddad of Rohnert Park.
According to officials with the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision took place at approximately 1:10 AM, near Country Club Drive.
As per reports, Haddad was driving his 2005 Audi A6 at high speeds in the eastbound lane of the expressway when he ran a red light and collided with a 2007 Lexus. The Lexus was turning left from the westbound direction of the expressway onto southbound Country Club Dr.
The Audi then lost control and struck a nearby light pole, splitting it into two. Haddad suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
It was unclear if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the two-vehicle crash. No further details have been disclosed at this time, as the investigation continues.
