Miguel Naranjo Dies in Fatal Turlock Moped Accident

 
Turlock, CA (September 21, 2020) – On Sunday night, a 38-year-old Miguel Naranjo, of Turlock died when his moped struck by a car from behind.
 
Moreover, the incident happened at 9:40 p.m. on September 20. The CHP responded on West Main Street west of Washington Road.
 
Investigators say a 2017 Honda sedan traveling eastbound failed to see the 2008 Fantic Motor Lei moped traveling at a lower speed ahead of her.
 
As a result, Naranjo was ejected from his vehicle when the car hit his moped. A citizen performed a CPR on the scene then was assumed by fire and medical personnel.
 
Subsequently, medics transported Miguel Naranjo to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, but later died while undergoing treatment.
 
Meanwhile, the sedan driver, 18-year-old Cassidi Bessey, remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials. She sustained no injuries.
 
“The rider of the moped did not have a helmet on at the time of the collision,” CHP Modesto office spokesman Officer Thomas Olsen said in an email. “Also, it appears the moped did not have the required lighting to be driven on the highway per the vehicle code.”
