Moorpark Resident Dies in Head-On Crash on Francisquito Canyon Road [Santa Clarita, CA]

Santa Clarita, CA (February 14, 2022) – On Sunday, a 60-year-old Moorpark resident sustained fatal injuries in a head-on crash on San Francisquito Canyon Road.

The California Highway Patrol received the crash report at about 8:30 p.m. in the rural community of Green Valley.

A northbound 2015 Toyota Prius driven by a 54-year-old Lancaster resident was approaching a southbound 2014 Honda CRV driven by a 60-year-old Moorpark resident.

“The driver of the Toyota allowed the Toyota to drift left into the (southbound) lane striking the front-end of the Honda,” says the incident report.

Unfortunately, the Honda driver died at the scene. Officers withheld his identity pending notification of family.

Moreover, the paramedics airlifted the Honda passenger, a 74-year-old Moorpark resident, to a nearby hospital with major injuries.

Similarly, the paramedics also rushed the Toyota driver to a hospital with moderate injuries.
