Car Crashes into Pole at 15th Street and Highway 50 Killing 2 Women
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 10, 2019) – Two women were killed in a fiery crash early Sunday morning in Sacramento.
The crash happened around 12:40 a.m. along the 15th Street on-ramp to westbound Highway 50, also known as Lincoln Highway.
According to reports, a Chevrolet Spark was on the on-ramp when the car’s tires drifted into the dirt shoulder. The driver then continued on the dirt for about 100 feet before it crashed into a concrete signpost base.
The impact sent the car airborne before it finally slammed into a tree where it caught fire.
The two women inside the car were trapped inside the burning vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene. They were identified as a Kathleen Rouppet, 27, of San Jose, and Monique Perales, 28, of Stockton.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation into whether or not drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
