Woman Injured in Accident near Old Downieville Highway
NEVADA CITY, CA (August 17, 2018) – A woman was injured and another was arrested after a DUI crash on Highway 49, early Friday evening. The suspect, 33-year-old Molly Purvis, was booked into the Nevada County Jail for a felony count of DUI of drugs and causing bodily injury.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the head-on collision took place near Old Downieville Highway at approximately 6:12 PM, and involved two vehicles.
According to the medics, an unidentified woman suffered critical injuries and was taken to a hospital in Roseville by air ambulance for treatment and evaluation. Her condition and identity are currently unknown, but reports showed that the victim suffered compound injuries to her leg. It is unclear whether or not Purvis was injured in the accident.
Both vehicles received major damages in the incident. No additional information has been to the public at this time, as officials continue to investigate.
