Maxwell Hunter Lee of Quitman Arrested in Fatal DUI Collision on US Highway 69
Wood County, TX (September 19, 2023) On Saturday afternoon, 41-year-old Moises Joribio died, and 29-year-old Jesus Beltran was hurt in a DUI crash on Highway 69.
According to DPS, the fatal DUI collision happened around 3:59 p.m. on Highway 69 and CR 2260.
Reports say that 25-year-old Maxwell Hunter Lee on a northbound Ford Explorer rear-ended a Toyota Camry driven by Joribio, with Beltran as a passenger. Both men were from Mineola.
Officials say that the collision killed Joribio and injured Beltran, medics transported Beltran to UT Health with non-incapacitating injuries.
Meanwhile, Lee escaped injuries and had shown signs of impairment at the time of the crash.
Authorities charged Lee with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and was booked into the Wood County Jail on Sunday.
DPS is investigating further.
