Early Morning Rollover Crash in Modesto Kills 24-Year-Old Driver
MODESTO, CA (December 24, 2018) – A 24-year-old man was killed following a rollover crash early Monday morning in Modesto.
The fatal crash happened a little after 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Finch Road and Codoni Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2005 Scion was traveling eastbound on Finch Road at a high rate of speed when it got to Codoni Avenue, where Finch dead-ends. The man driving the car forced to make a turn crashing the car into a fence and concrete barrier.
The Scion then went about 100 feet off the roadway and landed on its roof.
The man, who was not wearing his lap or shoulder harness, was found inside the overturned car with major head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released pending notification of his family members.
Alcohol and drugs are suspected to be factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
