Mitsubishi Driver Injured in DUI Collision on Interstate 5 [Everett, WA]

Everett, WA (December 29, 2021) – On Christmas, a 42-year-old 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer driver from Seattle, sustained injuries in a DUI collision on Interstate 5.

The accident happened at around 2 a.m. north of East Marine View Drive.

Officers said a 28-year-old Everett man was driving a southbound gray 2020 Volkswagen on the freeway.

At the same time, the red Mitsubishi Lancers driver struck the center divider and stopped on the freeway. 

Then, the Volkswagen slammed into the Mitsubishi and turned upside down.

Immediately, the rescuers took the Mitsubishi driver to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with a fractured pelvis and ruptured spleen.

Moreover, officers said the Volkswagen driver’s eyes looked bloodshot and watery. Also, he smelled like intoxicants.

Apparently, he was on his way home from the Tulalip Resort Casino where he consumed two alcoholic drinks.

The driver took a field sobriety test at the crash scene.

However, he performed poorly in the sobriety test. Similarly, his preliminary breath test indicated that he had a blood-alcohol content more than the legal limit of 0.08.

Later on, the authorities booked him into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault with bail set at $15,000.
