18-Year-Old Woman Dies in Solo-Car Collision near Oso Loop Road

OSO, WA (November 15, 2018) – A woman was killed in a car crash on eastbound State Route 530, late Thursday night. The victim was identified as 18-year-old Mishelle Konertz, a resident of Darrington.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 11:30 PM, near Oso Loop Road. Reports show that the teenager lost control of her Ford Taurus before it crossed onto the oncoming lane and struck a pole. It was tagged as a possible solo-car accident.

The paramedics arrived for rescue, but the woman was pronounced dead on site. No other injuries were reported by the rescuers.

It is unclear at this time what caused Konertz to lose control of the car. Officials ordered a clean-up at the scene and began their investigation, but no additional information has been released to the public.
