Injuries Reported in Washington Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 47 and Missouri River Bridge
WASHINGTON, MO (October 31, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, Miriella Foster and Jaclyn Butler sustained injuries in a crippling 3-vehicle crash on Highway 47.
The incident happened at around 2:10 p.m. on the Missouri River Bridge.
According to the highway patrol, around 2:10 p.m., 19-year-old Foster of Eureka was driving south on Highway 47 in a 2024 Kia Forte when she crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a 1991 Ford F-150. A 2020 Ford Explorer traveling north behind the F-150 then struck its rear.
Foster and the F-150 driver, Butler, 36, of Pacific, suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Mercy Hospital Washington by Washington Area Ambulance District personnel. The driver of the Explorer, Andrea Simmons, 38, of Wentzville, was reportedly uninjured. All involved were wearing seatbelts.
Responders from the Washington and Marthasville fire departments, along with the highway patrol, were at the scene. The bridge was closed for about an hour and a half, according to Washington police spokesperson Detective Lt. Steve Sitzes.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
What’s Next after Crash Involving Miriella Foster and Jaclyn Butler
Gas costs have yet to descend, and even so, traffic on Missouri highways has carried on as busy and dangerous as ever.
Hence, it is important to drive defensively/abide by all driving laws. Moreover, this will ensure your safety and the safety of surrounding vehicles, motorists, and pedestrians.
The aftershock of an accident cannot be dealt with alone. The burden is meant to be shared; preferably, with a community that knows how to handle the effects
