Aaron Gentry Arrested after Deadly DUI Collision near Highway 530
ARLINGTON, WA (July 1, 2018) – A woman was killed Sunday afternoon and two others were injured following a head-on collision involving a suspected DUI driver.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place shortly before 4 PM. A 1991 Ford Explorer, driven by 56-year-old Aaron Gentry, of Tulalip was heading north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 when it struck a 1997 Toyota Corolla head-on.
The impact of the collision caused the Corolla to roll over and land on the cable barrier. The front-seat passenger, 28-year-old Miriam Robinson, of Albany, Oregon sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Corolla’s 30-year-old driver and Robinson’s son sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Three other vehicles were hit by the debris from the crash but no other injuries were reported.
A GoFundMe page was created to assist Robinson’s family with funeral expenses. Click on the link to donate.
Gentry was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide. He is currently being held in the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of driving with a suspended license and failing to have an ignition-interlock device on his vehicle. A Snohomish County judge on Monday set his bail at $500,000.
No further details were immediately available to the public at this time.
