Teenager Hospitalized in Traffic Collision on De La Vina Street
Santa Barbara, CA (November 10, 2023) On Wednesday evening, a teen on an electric scooter was hurt in the State Street hit-and-run crash.
According to the SBPD, the traffic collision happened in front of a Shell gas station near the intersection on State Street and De La Vina Street .
Reports say that a white F-150 turning left onto Calle Palo Colorado hit a minor on an electric scooter, the driver of the F-150 allegedly stepped out of her vehicle and checked on the injured child. Moreover, the driver, then fled the scene and drove up to the next corner, where she apparently jumped out and ran to a home.
Officials say that witnesses were able to get the Ford’s license plate and reported the incident to authorities. AMR, SBFD and SBPD responded to the scene.
Medics rushed the injured victim to Cottage Hospital with some possibly serious injuries.
Authorities are investigating the traffic collision and have not released additional information at this time.
